Erik Moore earned his B.A. in history from Truman State University in Kirksville, Missouri, in 2001. He then earned his J.D. in 2004 from the University of Missouri - Kansas City. Erik practiced law in Missouri and Kansas for six years before returning to UMKC to earn his M.A. in history. Erik's thesis focused on the diplomacy of Elihu Root and the role of law in U.S.-Latin American relations of the early twentieth century. As a Hudson Fellow at the University of Oklahoma, Erik is now pursuing a Ph.D. through which he will continue his research into the relationship of law and U.S. foreign relations and the process through which Americans conceptualized and legally defined their emerging empire.
